The Seven Time James Bond Man
When he took up the role as James Bond, he had big shoes to fill in as he was to live up to being as good as Sean Connery. At 45 years, he starred in his first James Bond Movie and was 57 years old when he filmed his last movie “A View To Kill.” His big debut was in the television show called “The Governess” in the 1950s.
The good looking and very elegant actor that was best known for playing James Bond was Sir Roger George Moore who left us on the 23rd of May 2017. He was recognised for his seven featured films between 1973 and 1985. As all other James Bond actors, he had to be charming and good with women. But Moore brought something unique to the character, he gave more comedy scenes to the movie and a light-hearted feel to the character. Some film writers considered him as the most mannerly Bond they’ve ever had on set.
Roger was born on 14th October 1927 in London. He was a high school dropout and joined the British Army for two years in 1945. He lived in London during the breakout of World War II before he moved out to the US to start his career. Very popular for his work in UNICEF, in 1991, he was appointed as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. He would advocate for children and support programs around the world that could make people aware of children crisis and recruited support and donations to the organisation.
His early missions were in Costa Rica and that opened his eyes to the happenings of the children in that area. Roger held a strong voice for issues such as diseases and landmine injuries. As the key UNICEF partner, he helped raise 91 million US dollars for the abolition of iodine deficiency.
Roger married four times and only had three children with his third wife that kept his name in the spotlight. Deborah, his daughter starred in the James Bond Movie as an air hostess in “Die Another Day.” Nothing could stop her from following her father’s footsteps. The legend had homes in Switzerland and Monte Carlo and was named deceased in Switzerland. A private funeral was held in Monaco in his remembrance.
He might be gone but his memory will forever live on. Come and play the latest slots at Bingo Extra such as; Agent Jane Blonde Slot, Fu Dao Le Slot and Burning Desire Slot. Hop on and enjoy the ride!
