Christmas is the time of the year where we go all out! It’s the biggest celebration of the year, and also a time where no one is stingy (lol…) There is an array of reasons as to why we think Christmas is important. Like, spending quality time with family, sharing gifts, easting special foods and most of all DRINKS! Let’s be honest, the different mixes of drinks to keep us warm and toasty is what brings us all together.


Now, there is an infinite range of food that are very generous to our taste buds. But, let’s talk about the drinks. Yes, the drinks that fill our mouths with love and bodies with warmth. There are a selection of Christmas cocktails that have become popular over the years. It’s time to take a look at the top five Chrimbo cocktails.

Holiday Sangria

This is the ultimate crisp, irresistible and tangy holiday sangria! Just in case you’re ready to party, this is the one drink that you can quickly mix up. Ingredients you’ll need for six serves are:

  • ¼ cup agave nectar
  • ¼ brandy
  • ¼ Grand Marniere
  • 1 orange, halved then sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 crisp pear, sliced
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon
  • ¾ cup ginger ale

In a large pitcher, mix the agave nectar, brandy, orange, lime, Grand Marnier, pear, cinnamon sticks, pomegranate sticks and stir. Pour in the whole bottle of wine, then cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Before serving, add the ginger ale to the chilled mixture, add ice and serve!

North Pole

If you’re a sweet cocktail lover, you’ll surely enjoy this drink. Ingredients you will need for four serves are:

  • 4 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. Kahlua
  • 4 tbsp. chocolate syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp molasses
  • 1/8 tsp ginger
  • ½ cup heavy cream/whole milk
  • Optional servings: whipped cream, ginger cookies or candy canes.

In a cocktail shaker, simply combine the vodka, Kahlua, chocolate syrup, vanilla, molasses and ginger. Shake, shake, shake until all ingredients are perfectly combined and strain into four glasses. Top off each glass with heavy cream then get generous with the whipped cream topping, garnish and drink away!

Sparkly Clementine Thyme Cocktail

You’ll be bursting out the bubbles with this cocktail on Christmas and New Year! It looks lush and absolutely tantalizing. Ingredients you’ll need for two serves are:

  • 4 oz. chilled vodka
  • 12 oz. sparkling clementine juice
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • 2 Clementine/orange slices
  • 2 sprigs of lemon thyme
  • Ice

Fill up two glasses with ice, orange/clementine slices and pomegranate seeds. Then add the vodka, followed by the clementine juice. Finally garnish with thyme sprigs and let the party in your mouth


White Christmas Mojito

Because all Christmases should be white, this creamy tropical mojito will have your taste buds bustling. Get your apron out and get your ingredients out for one serving:

  • 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 juiced lime
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. coconut rum
  • 2 tbsp. white rum
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • Sparkling water
  • Pomegranate seeds for garnish

With this drink, there are no specific measurements. The more coconut, the merrier. In a glass mix up the lime juice, sugar and mint leaves. In a blender, muddle the white rum, coconut rum, and coconut milk until smooth. Pour the mixture over the mixture in your glass, and let it chill until it’s ready to serve. To serve, divide ice cubes into glasses and fill halfway with the mojito mix, top with sparkling water, garnish with pomegranate seeds and let the party begin!
